Vermiculite Propagation aid
Especially popular for seed raising, growing vegetables, propagating from cuttings, and plant transplant mixes. Vermiculite helps with aeration of clay soils and moisture retention in sandy soils or potting mix, often mixed with perlite or applied alone to soils. A clean sterile material, Vermiculite is one of the world’s most unique minerals, excellent for mulching and decorating planter boxes and hanging baskets.
A hydrated Magnesium Aluminium Silicate, it is inorganic (incombustible), lightweight, chemically-neutral, (non-reactive), compressible, highly absorbent, and environmentally friendly. Vermiculite must be kept dry until ready for use. It should be stored undercover, off the ground, away from wet /damp surfaces and away from areas where high humidity is present. During storage or transportation, compaction of the product will occur.
TO USE:
Sprinkle vermiculite on top of potting mix or other growing medium after planting seeds, or mix into growing medium before planting. Water as usual. Approx. 1 teaspoon per 10cm pot or 1 cup per 100cm pot. Always seek professional advice before using propagation aids.
