Family: Bignoniaceae
Ideal sowing temp: 18-24C (Avoid the coldest and hottest temps).
Position: Protected & shaded.
Preparation: Soak in water overnight.
Sowing: On the surface of porous seed raising mix. Warm, shaded or semi-shaded position while sprouting.
Care: Water with fine mist spray to avoid disturbance of the seed.
Sprouting: 14-30 days.
A popular, easy to grow, vigorous twining vine to 5m endemic to New South Wales and Queensland.
Very robust climber in topical or temperate regions, with big bell-shaped flowers that are commonly pale pink with a deep pink throat, appearing over a long period between spring and autumn. Prefers medium to heavy soil and is, drought resistant but frost tender. Although it does like a reliable water supply, it will tolerate extended dry periods once establishedand is happiest growing over a fence, trellis or other support.
