Native to New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania, this small, fast-growing tree to 8m H x 6m W gets a spreading canopy of dark green needle-like leaves, making it a good option for a hedge or living fence. It gets creamy, cylindrical flowers like bottlebrush in spring and summer, and is adaptable to most soils in an open sunny position. It is also drought and frost tolerant.
The flowers produce a sweet nectar which can be soaked in water to make a sweet drink or even sucked straight from the flowers.
