Sowing time: Spring and Summer
Sowing: on surface of soil.
Care: Cover with cling wrap (with a few holes poked in it) and keep out of direct sunlight but at 22-26 degrees C. Keep moist at all times with a misting gun
Sprouting: 10-14 days (at 21-27C).
Harvest: 30-60 days. Harvest small leaves and allow plant to regrow.
Origanum majorana hortensis
Perennial herb often grown as an annual. Dark green, velvety leaves with white flowers. Marjoram is used a lot in Greek dishes and from the oregano family. Traditionally symbolised beauty, happiness, and youth. Said to have a sweet pine & citrus flavour, it can be used as a flavourer or garnish in salads, roasts, tomato recipes, vinegars, soups, and more.
