HARDENBERGIA VIOLACEA ALBA
“White Shrub Coral Pea”
Ideal sowing temp: 21-25C
Position: Light Shade to Full Sun; Well Drained.
Preparation: Fill a small bowl with water from your tap, as hot as your tap will allow (NOT boiling), add a small amount of tea or coffee to the water to make a weak solution. Place seeds in the solution, then allow the seeds to stay in the solution for 24 hrs.
Sowing: 2mm deep. Cover very lightly with soil.
Care: Keep moist but not wet.
Sprouting: 6-25 days.
A white flowering variety of the popular Hardenbergia species of climbers and groundcovers also known as native wisteria and Happy Wanderer, Hardenbergia Violacea Alba forms a bush or ground cover and spreads to around 1.5 metres wide and around 1 metre tall. While it’s growth habit is variable, Hardenbergia Violacea Alba can be trained to climb or may sprawl along the ground and will withstand moderate frost. Hardenbergia Violacea Alba prefers full sun or part shade. Most well-drained soil types are suitable.
Leaves from Hardenbergia species can be used to make a tea substitute.
