Sprouting: 10-28 days.
Native tree to 15m with smooth white, yellow, or silvery-grey bark and white flowers typically July – November, endemic to Sydney region, mainly between Lake Macquarie and the Royal National Park. Noted mostly for the ‘scribbly’ patterns visible in the bark. With multiple trunks, it also has broader leaves and redder fruit than the other well-known ‘scribbly gum’: E. Racemosa.
Allow plenty of room to spread out (20m) as the many trunks like their space. Likes hot, overhead sun. Will tolerate moist or dry soils, mildly acidic to mildly alkaline; high wind, medium salinity, light frost, first line salt wind, and extended dry spells. Important k0ala food tree.
