Elaeocarpus Obovatus 'Hard Quandong'-BUSH TUCKA-25 seeds
Ideal sowing temp: 25-32C
Position: Sunny and well-drained once matured.
Preparation: File or crack hard shell very carefully before sowing.
Sowing: 2mm deep.
Care: Sow seed in containers in light shade. Water with fine mist spray.
Sprouting: 10-28 days. **** Can be difficult to germinate from seed but not impossible, and may take up to 2 years to sprout.
Bird and butterfly attracting rainforest tree growing to 30m. A fire-retardant, bushy tree suitable for windbreaks and larger gardens, properties. It has attractive flowers, and blue fruits which are edible, preferably cooked first. Indigenous people made necklaces out of the seeds after eating the flesh of the fruits.
