Distribution: Occurring in the states of Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
Erect shrub to 3 metres high. Cultivated as an ornamental plant for use in gardens and as a potted plant. Capsules were used as a h0p substitute by early settlers.
Therapeutic: According to "sunshinesgap" online: "..leaves were chewed by Aboriginal people as a paink1ller for tooth@che and chewed leaves were used in the treatment of st0nef1sh and st1ngray wounds.
When To Plant: any time temp is mild (around 25C)
Sow: 5mm deep
How To Grow: Hot water treatment recommended. Soak in boiling water for 12 hrs before planting in soil.
Sow: 5mm deep.
General note:
Do not be too hasty to discard seed that does not germinate, seeds will often lay dormant until the conditions are like their natural requirements for germination to occur. Containers put to one side will often surprise long after they were discarded.
