Blunt ended fruit with thick flesh growing up to 8cm. Normally picked green but can be left to mature red. A fiery hot chilli by which all other chillies are compared. Frost tender Perennial (grown as an annual in cool climates). Plant in Spring or after frost (anytime in warm climates). Keep well-watered. Pick regularly to encourage more fruit. Some plants may need staking. Can be grown in containers. Protect from aphids. Susceptible to mildews. Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for stronger plants.
Very popular variety that can be used fresh or dried, raw or cooked.
The Chakra Garden cannot take any responsibility for any adverse effects from the use of plants.
Always seek advice from a professional before eating or using a plant medicinally.
Chilli pods go from green to red over time. The inside of the pod is very oily so be careful when handling those fruits. When fully grown the plant can grow up to 90 – 120 cm high.
Note: the MiltonÒ sterilizes the seed and breaks down the water-repellent seed layer allowing the seed to absorb water. The trick is to get the seed up and growing before fungal attack. A heat blanket can also help to keep the seed at a constant temperature while awaiting your sprouts.

Do not be too hasty to discard seed that does not germinate, seeds will often lay dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural requirements for germination to occur. Containers put to one side will often surprise long after they were discarded.
