Ideal sowing temp: 18-22C
Position: Sunny
Preparation: Soak in boiling water for 30 seconds and then in lukewarm water overnight. Re-treat any seeds that have not swollen before sowing.
Sowing: 5mm deep. Warm, shaded or semi-shaded; Well Drained.
Care: Keep moist but not wet. Do not allow spoil to dry out completely.
Sprouting: 10-21 days.
Endemic to Queensland and deciduous in cooler climates. A very hardy, small to medium sized tree to 15m. Yellowish bell-shaped flower clusters followed by seed capsules which contain many large seeds.
Prefers a medium to heavy soil but also adapts well to a variety of soils in an open sunny position. Drought and frost tolerant.
