Angophora Costata-'Smooth Barked Apple'-25 seeds-TREE SEEDS
Ideal sowing temp: 18-22C
Position: Full Sun; Open; Light to heavy, stony soil.
Preparation: Sow into a porous seed raising mix.
Sowing: 2mm deep. Cover very lightly with soil.
Care: Place in a warm, shaded or semi-shaded position. Keep moist with a fine mist only but not wet.
Sprouting: 10-28 days.
With showy white flowers in large bunches, Angophora Costata is an attractive tree with smooth pink bark and gnarled branches. The bark sheds in large flakes during Spring with the new salmon pink bark turning to pale grey before shedding again the following year.
Widespread in New South Wales and Queensland, it is also drought and frost resistant, making it a popular tree in streets, parks, sports grounds, gardens, and reserves.
