Evergreen Australian native tree to 15m high with a canopy of around 5m. Prefers a slightly acidic soil in a well-drained site with full sun. Also prefers fert1lisers that are low in ph0sp0r0us. According to Wikipedia (Feb 2021) it is listed as vulnerable under the Australian Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) as most of its habitat has been cleared for agriculture and logging.
In spring, bright orange-red flowers with yellow pollen appear resembling the much-loved Waratah. Said to be the most hardy of the alloxylon species, plants grown from seed may take 7-8 years to flower. Mainly found in QLD rain-forests, it is also drought-tolerant.

I am yet to plant the seeds I purchased so my review is more about the service. And service to me is the biggest thing. Great descriptions on website, easy to navigate and a thank you email form Chakra Garden when I ordered. I am very happy about finding this special business, will use again and will recommend to all of my green thumbed friends!
