Heirloom multi-coloured variety originally cultivated by the Aztecs. Produces good-sized cobs that have multicoloured kernels. The kernels are harder than sweetcorn kernels, making it more resistant to freezing. May be eaten fresh when young or left to mature and used for cornflour, animal feed or decorative purposes.

General note:
Do not be too hasty to discard seed that does not germinate, seeds will often lay dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural requirements for germination to occur. Containers put to one side will often surprise long after they were discarded.
