KENNEDIA PROSTRATA

“Running Postman”

Family: Fabaceae.

Ideal sowing temp: 18-22C.

Position:  Open & sunny once matured.

Preparation: Soak in just-boiled water 10-15 hours before sowing.

Sowing: Sow any swollen seeds on surface of a porous seed raising mix.  Re-soak any seeds that have not swollen.  Sprinkle lightly with seed raising mix

Care:  Keep warm & moist, (18-22C) in a shaded or semi-shaded position.  Water with fine mist spray to avoid disturbance of the seed.

Sprouting: 10-30 days.

Endemic to WA, SA, VIC, NSW and Tasmania, mainly in coastal areas.

Hardy, prostrate ground covering vine to 2m with pea-shaped red and yellow flowers occurring over the cooler months from April to November.

Prefers a dry, light-medium soil in an open sunny position.  Drought and frost resistant.

Scarlet pea-type flowers can be sucked to obtain sweet nectar. Flowers can also be used as a salad garnish or they be added to water where they’ll release a delicious nectar. The leaves can be steeped in hot water to create a liquorice-flavoured tea.

Always seek advice from a professional before eating or using a plant medicinally.

****Please note: these are seeds (we are NOT selling these as live plants). Quarantine restrictions and costs prohibit us from selling these seeds to WA, Tas, and Internationally.

sorry can't see any seedlings. not sure if I should of put snail bates.

Oh no! Hopefully you see some shoots spring up soon Faye. Sometimes the seeds can lay dormant in the soil if conditions are not great, so hopefully no hungry snails got in.

No luck!

Very disappointed ….not one seed germinated….I followed instructions but nothing happened. Won’t be buying seeds again!

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave feedback about your seeds. While we take great care picking, cleaning, storing, packaging, and sending our seeds out into the world, the actual growing of each seed has many many variables that are completely out of our control. While we always hope the seeds we supply will grow really well, we cannot guarantee it and we do care – a lot. We have sent you a private email and hope to hear from you soon. Thanks again.

Seeds arrived safely and I appreciated the emailed advices between postage and arrival. I haven't planted the seeds yet so cannot comment further at this stage.
