Family: Goodeniaceae.
Ideal sowing temp: 14-20C (Avoid the coldest and hottest temps).
Position: Full sun or partial shade.
Preparation: Soak seed for 2 days before sowing.
Sowing: 1mm deep. Cover very lightly with soil. Warm, shaded or semi-shaded position while sprouting.
Care: Water with fine mist spray to avoid disturbance of the seed.
Sprouting: 21-56 days.
A perennial herb, to 30 cm tall. Blue pincushion-like flower-heads from September to February. There are several seeds per head which form once flowering is finished. Tolerates a range of woodlands and grasslands. Often short lived in cultivation, this plant is easy to propagate from seed or by division however, they can be difficult to establish and may die after a few years. Makes an excellent container plant. Provides nectar that is attractive to butterflies like the Meadow Argus butterfly, and other insects.
