Ideal sowing temp: 15-25C.
Position: Well drained & sunny.
Sowing: Sow on surface direct or on seed raising trays. Cover seed lightly to hold in place.
Care: Keep moist but not wet.
Sprouting: 14-28 days (Germination can take 8 weeks in winter).
Small and very popular in modern garden design, this becomes a clump forming European ornamental grass to 15cm. Noted for its finely-textured, steel-blue foliage that looks great in mass plantings.
It develops light green flowers tinged with purple that rise above the foliage in late spring-early summer to 30cm. The flowers are followed by attractive, wheat-like seed heads.
Will tolerate drought and dry or low nutrient soils but does prefer regular watering.
