Sowing time: All year round but avoid hottest and coldest times of year.

Climate: Best in temperate climates.

Position:  Sunny.

Sowing: 5mm deep.

Sprouting: 6-10 days.

Harvest: 6-8 weeks.

Produces dark purple to reddish leaves, with darker colouring usually in colder temperatures and in full sun. Very fast-growing substitute for other leafy greens. Excellent for baby leaf production. Make salads, stir fry and vegetable dishes with a colourful and healthy twist.

General note: 
Do not be too hasty to discard seed that does not germinate, seeds will often lay dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural requirements for germination to occur. Containers put to one side will often surprise long after they were discarded.
