in our efforts to make the world a safer place, have we become what we were fighting against? Will we now work on forgiveness and healing or will the tables simply turn and the ugliness rage on?
Our survival is dependant on our neural growth and our ability to adapt constantly and brain makes us seek out experiences that will facilitate the process that it needs.
Responses come from a different part of the brain than reactions do. Reactions are instinctual actions and like their name, they are re-actions - actions that repeat, unconsciously and often on a loop.
Rescuing can create wounding which provides stimulus for growth through connecting with emotion. While I aim to change my unconscious plays at rescuing, I also recognise why others rescue, that it’s usually unconscious for them too, and that there is nothing to forgive, only more to love.
